But just because someone has Meta glasses, doesn’t mean they are recording with them all the time. That is already illegal in many places, especially in states that requires two-party consent. For example, here in Washington State, recording someone without their consent in a location where they would have a reasonable expectation of privacy is already illegal.

And its not like all perverts record a majority of their interactions anyway. It would seem that most perverts, at least the ones that aren’t complete idiots, wouldn’t want evidence of their perversions uploaded to the cloud anyway. Trying to associate being a pervert with wearing glasses is a poor argument in my opinion. It seems that it is more or less trying to manufacture a perception, when the reality the actual concerns are much larger and nuanced.

If I was a pervert, I’d absolutely try to ferment the idea that people that wear Meta glasses are perverts, so then then people are hypervigilant focused on that while ignoring the countless other things that existed before.

Lol, found the guy who already bought the glasses.

People are getting tired of being recorded all the time. And trusting Meta to not be recording all the time is just hilariously naive.

I already know your argument is weak, because I don’t have the glasses and your poor assumption is that I do. I’m all for better laws to address privacy concerns, but trying to associate glasses with a camera with all perverts is just lazy and weakens any change you’d hope to make.

The change I would hope to make is impossible, so I don’t really give a shit anymore.

Plus, anyone willing to give money to Meta is a write off anyway, so people also calling them perverts really doesn’t bother me.

Real change takes time and effort. If you don’t like Meta, then prototype some better open-source design that implements the positive changes you’d like to see. Or if you don’t like that people even have a desire to have glasses with a camera, then look for root cause analysis of societal issues and try solving some of those.

Such a senseless rebuttal since I never claimed people can’t break the law. Are you going to ban everything that can potentially be used to facilitate a crime?
