    There’s a reason for everything.

    A reason is not the same as a purpose, of course. Reason and purpose are often confused, but plenty of things have no real purpose. A reason, on the other hand, is simply an explanation for something, and everything has an explanation.

    If you put a peanut butter sandwich on your head, it probably won’t serve any real purpose - it won’t achieve anything by being up there - but the reason it’s there is that you put it on your head.
