FINALLY finished Xenoblade Chronicles 3, after 190 hours of game time. Might sound crazy, but I struggle to give it even a 5/10. It feels like Xenoblade without the magic of the first two. I really didn’t enjoy the story, and never really connected with the main cast. I did like some of the “Heroes”, but you run out of interactions with them pretty fast. None of the colonies or the city felt nearly as fantastical or even alive as some of the locales in the first two games. There was some cool geography, but it didn’t feel like the game really did anything with it, other than just having you walk through it. Again, it just doesn’t feel very alive.
Still I kept going in hopes it would redeem itself, since I loved the first two so much. But that time never came, and I found the ending deeply unsatisfying.
As for this month, I’m play Horizon Zero Dawn right now, but still planning on starting Trails of Cold Steel this month. Or maybe the FF7 remakes. We’ll see
