If you want a private desktop OS you either use a debloated Windows which can break, or Linux but it’s not always easy to use, but I’ve never heard of anyone use a de-googled Chrome OS, smth like Graphene OS but for desktops. I’ve actually never used Chrome OS but to my knowledge it’s open-source, easy to use and can already run Android apps making it a strong option
Idk if they have open bootloader, but by my post I meant installing Chrome OS on a device that isn’t necessarily a Chromebook, smth that has Windows MacOS or Linux pre-installed
@Retroman1203 I see where you’re going; two thoughts / counter concerns come to mind:
1: so much of chromeos is a device implementation of a sys that can use Google’s suite of cloud apps. That portion doesn’t degoogle, right? This potentially includes Google appstore installation or whatever that was called on chromeOS
2: what’s left feels like Linux and browser-only apps. I’m sure that grossly oversimplifies, but … is the answer a lightweight Linux flavor ?
