Once again Democrats are overthinking and under-doing. Trump and his cabinet have been doing and are doing impeachable things daily. You need to impeach or the Constitution is dead letter (or at least, will remain that).
Yes, it’s a time suck and some people care about your agenda, so walk and chew gum at the same time. Impeach and also push your agenda. Have different members lead different things. It’s fine if some of it gets lost in the news cycles. Better to have too much that voters want happening to cover than not enough.
And of course vote Jeffries out of the speaker role first. Any unknown is better than a demonstrated, reliable failure.
The only person the article states as saying “wouldn’t pursue impeachment” after the midterms is Jeffries. One other congressman is quoted as saying there’s no point when republicans control both houses and the white house, which may not be the case after midterms.
So I don’t think it’s accurate to say the article says Democrats won’t pursue impeachment after midterms.
I do think that’s probably right if they don’t take the Senate though.
