Creating separate threads surfaces them to people’s feeds, and gives a reminder for folks to reflect and give another update. If it’s a single pinned thread that just stays, I don’t think it would have any visibility or longevity (activity-wise).

I am more used to pinned rotating threads than reannouncements posts. but whatever.
