A mapping tool to show how much space is dedicated to cars in our cities compared to space for peds, bicycles, green and even buildings. Find an intersection or neighbourhood on the map - or upload your own aerial photo - and start mapping how much space is allocated to cars, pedestrians and bikes [by leveraging data from OpenStreetMaps, so if you have ever contributed to it, kudos to you too]

That much room for cars on a little island is insane. Seems like the ideal situation for 2 wheel locomotion, with maybe just a few microcars for people/businesses/services that really need them.
Would also help them with energy independence. It doesn’t take much solar to charge e-bikes or e-motos. Currently they’re nearly 100% fossil fuels. And the island is only 20 miles long at most, range isn’t massively important.
There’s a small island somewhere in the US that doesn’t allow cars; of course, it’s overrun by the same rich people that make sure they can drive everywhere else because they can keep poor people off an island.
Yeah there are a few, but they’re far smaller than Nassau, and with tiny populations. I’ve been to one, Daufuskie Island in SC. It’s a tourist trap.
Yeah, took me a while to dig up the title; all I could remember was “Conrack”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Water_Is_Wide_(book)
