Just an FYI, there’s enough time left and it’s too late are both fossil fuel propaganda. We’re currently on a collision course to very bad but pretty bad to bad is still doable.
Not too long ago predictions estimated 4° warming but we’re now in the 2-2.5° range. There’s plenty of exciting stuff happening in batteries, solar and wind and countries are actively getting more involved because it makes economic sense.
There’s the curious case of India where it’s starting to look like that they’re leap frogging straight to renewable just like they leap frogged land line phones. Then there’s China making a massive switch to renewables, USA installing modest amount of solar even though going against politically entrenched fossil fuels, oil price shocks making the case for renewables being a strategic as well as economic policy.
The tide is turning, it’s long overdue but there’s an actual end in sight. Climate change is not a fight you win, it’s a marathon of going from the age of fire to the age of electricity to save a sizable fraction of humanity.
Just an FYI, there’s enough time left and it’s too late are both fossil fuel propaganda.
why would they want us to be pessimistic?
green energy is nice and all but its just a bandaid solution. it might keep modern civilization for one or two generations functioning before we run out of resources.
Pessimism reduces the fight. CO2 is an energy by product so using green energy is the actual solution, switching all industries to it is the tricky part. Green energy is a necessary first step for that to happen.

I wish I could share your optimism.
