Did an impromptu rewatch during my labour day weekend. Had never watched past Extinction before. Retribution is FAR better than Afterlife and the whole thing ended on a pretty weak entry. But on the whole, fuck the haters; I un-ronically had a blast turning my brain off and watching all of them.
Always thought they were fun in a vacuum if you ignore the source material. It was also my introduction to how well Michelle Rodriguez dies on-screen. She does it in just about every movie she’s in but the first Resident Evil made me pick up on dying on screen as a skill because of her.
And Mila kicking ass is always a fun time. I also never made it past Extinction, but Extinction had some peak action for younger me. I should give those movies a watch again
