EDIT: (for MacOS) theres Luna or BetterDisplay, they can basically do what I was asking about (making displays and external displays as dark/black as digitally possible. Lots of other cool features but that much i know

Not sure if its a neurodivergent thing but I often want to “turn off” or completely darken the monitor without actually pulling the power.

I like how on certain devices if you have low power mode on and you AirPlay, it goes completely dark after a moment, I’d like to something like that but for computer. Sort of like a non-screensaver screensaver that doest lock or anything but lets me recreate when TVs used to let you turn of the display
