    if you read a bit about John Carpenter mindset during mid 90s - it gets much more understandable why Escape from LA turned out the way it did. That man was fucking frustrated. If In the Mouth of Madness is Carpenter being fucking pissed and breaking shit, EFLA is him screaming “fuck you” over and over again into the void of hollywood.

      I totally wasn’t aware of that…only that I liked all of his flicks and even the music he did himself (as far as I remember). Guess it’s time for a re-watch with that new info in mind

        check out the book John Carpenter: The Prince of Darkness - it is a career-spanning interview that covers a lot of the ground and since it is zero-fucks Carpenter - he doesn’t mince words.
