For the first time, Disney is seeking damages in the state court case initiated by the governor’s handpicked oversight board.

In the case initiated by the board of supervisors picked by DeSantis to oversee Walt Disney World’s special tax district, the entertainment giant on Thursday filed a series of counterclaims, including for breach of contract and violations of the Florida constitution over its due process and free speech rights. It moved for damages and an order forcing the district to comply with the terms of the development agreements.

The mouse kept quiet and let him run his mouth. They didn’t immediately drop the hammer on him, possibly hoping he’d get bored, more likely, biding their time to let him hang himself.

Now that the mouse had bit back, I don’t see them letting it go. I can’t believe I’m on the side of a pretty shitty mega corporation, but I hope the mouse bleeds him dry.

The shitty corporation, actually. There really aren’t many up at that level of shitty. We’re talking about a company that created the perfect “child star to sex symbol” pipeline while simultaneously holding the most family friendly, kid friendly title across most of the world.

Really, the mouse is Satan but that doesn’t mean we need to side with DeSantis either. Pull up a chair, grab your popcorn and watch, no need to root for either of these monstrosities.

I know the mouse is bad, and let not forget the nazi roots, but the worst company out there? Not likely. At least not in my mind. There are plenty of other companies that are actively destroy the plant/humanity, in far more immediate and tangible way than the mouse.

Regardless, I’m not agreeing with Disney, or their practices, but I do want to see them knock Florida bitch down a peg, or 20, preferably all the way down the financial ruin ladder.

What do you call a tycoon who is virulently anti-communist and anti-labor and anti-union? I mean that’s a fascist right? Pretty clearly.

Even Walt’s living niece today (heiress even) has said her great uncle was borderline fascist, and a racist, and an antisemite. Had the Nazis come to America Walt would’ve gladly given them a personal tour of his park before swearing allegiance. Whatever it took to keep his money. That’s not coincidentally the same reason big money always backs fascism.

What I’m saying is, they’re the same picture. Disney and DeSantis are just competing angles of the same philosophy. Disney was happy with DeSantis policies right up until he wanted to affect their bottom line. That was too much. That’s always been the line for them. Always will be.
