I figured this would be notable enough to show here.
DSP showed that no player input is needed to complete Wolverine’s first motorcycle section. Considering he’s the sort of guy this level of difficulty is made for, even he’s baffled that he didn’t need to do anything to clear the section.
The people who say the game is far too easy may have a point.

So what? Enough harder games out there.
If this was super easy mode I don’t think anyone would be complaining but this is the only difficulty if i’m not mistaken.

What you are describing is not a game, what you are describing is Mixtape
… which is a game.
This isn’t even a question of hard or easy challenge. There’s is no challenge. You can literally put the controller down and the game completes that section all on its own.
I don’t see anything wrong with a game without a challenge.
lol the downvotes. This is a popular opinion and is only hated on here because hating Sony is a religion now.
that’s called a movie, not a game
Animal Crossing is a movie now?
??? you actually do something in animal crossing
You also do something in Wolverine.
not in this section, as demosntrated by the video… how is that not clear to you?
It’s a section that got remodeled into a cutscene then, I don’t see the problem?
not a game at that point, it’s a movie you can’t do half of the controls you can with something on netflix
I’m not sure I agree with your definition of a game, but I am certain I can’t work out the meaning of what you have written here.
But I would argue that if there is any interactive element, you can’t say it’s a movie either. Just because one section doesn’t require player input doesn’t mean the entire thing plays itself.
I think YouTube is the best way to experience this game.
YouTube is the best way to experience many games
I play games. I watch visual entertainment. TTRPGs are games. A narrative game where I don’t get to do anything that impacts anything about anything in the game, to me, isn’t much of a game to me. It’s wait-for-player-to-interact visual entertainment—not much different than those games you got on DVDs for movies.
I think we have different opinions. As a kid, i loved watching friends play games on their handhelds or consoles or whatever and as an adult i still like it via YouTube
so?
Movies already exist. If you’re not required to press a single button or steer at all, you’re not playing a game.
That’s a single short part of the game that was probably too imbalanced before release. Play it and we can talk again.
Most, if not all, of the quick time events are like this, too. The game gives you a huge window to press the button but it doesn’t matter if you press the right button…and you can also just not press a button at all.
It’s like scrolling a video feed of actions
It’s not about the lack of difficulty, it’s about the lack of quality and thought that has gone into making this. Large publishers are now convinced that effortless crap like this is the way to go because it will sell anyway, thus dragging down game quality in general.
The game is not crap though according to reviews. The section was probably found too difficult or clunky in playtesting. 20 years ago this would have stayed in and frustrated everyone like that race in the original Mafia.
Reviewers are saying that this game has zero redeeming qualities, yet they are still giving it a 5 out of 10.
