Just saw it. I give it a 6.5 out of 10.
The ending was a huge let down. It turned into a straight up comedy for the last several minutes and just ends with no real conclusion.
Maxine’s actions made zero sense - they really couldn’t come up with a better way to kill her character? Bryan our MC continues making ridiculously stupid moves long after he should have learned better just to try and build suspense or humor or show a “cool” set piece.
The ‘not zombies’ felt inconsistent.
I feel like the script needed another pass or something, there’s a really good movie in here but the final product feels kinda like an amateur made it.
I’m a fan (but not a hardcore fan) of RE. It definitely captures the vibe of a RE game, but really didn’t need to be a RE movie.
