    Take notes.

When I was in my 20s and after another “lecture” from my boss, he demanded I take notes. So I did.

That’s when I found I can boost my focus a little longer.

Now I’m in my 40s, and I can focus for long lectures (and reference them).

I also carry a notepad and I do pull it out when people are sharing something important. Used to be self conscious but now im the boss and honestly, it makes them feel happy that I’m taking it seriously. but really I’m just trying to stop the dancing frogs.

Yep. Often, I’m just writing down what people are saying to help me stay engaged. The resulting notes would need a lot of organization afterwards to make them useful, but paying attention in the moment is the main point.

Yes! I recently took notes for a meeting to later put into a set of actions, but was then surprised by a pair from the meeting who wanted me to scan quick copies of my notes so they could get started quickly. Ugh! My notes are for my brain, and do not translate well lol.

I do this a lot, but I always get so freaking tired when the day is over. It requires a lot of self-control and drains me quickly.
