Apple's M6 Mac mini loses the M4 model’s removable storage module, while the base 256GB configuration delivers slower SSD speeds than higher-capacity models.

It’s not surprising because it’s Apple, but still a disappointing step backwards.

Also the base 256 GB storage only uses a single NAND module and doesn’t meet the “twice as fast” speed claims Apple made; those only come with upgraded storage that use multiple modules. It’s still faster than what came on the M4, but not by the claimed margin.
