No. We do not directly experience the external world to instead experience the totality of the world within us in a state of dichotomous duality (inner/outer) which is the core of the illusory experience where you are a being living on a singular Earth with eight billion other beings.
That is not reality. Everything you experience is you. We are made in God’s image because we are “buds” of dependent consciousness off a larger independent consciousness who all exist within our individual parallel universe instance of “reality,” as defined by the entanglements of “beings” dependent on the “Earth,” which when you understand the Hitchhiker’s Guide idea of “the Earth is a computer,” then you understand God is just spawning random characters with a predefined but unpredictable random character archetypes, and thus you understand why God is a deranged sex fiend who needs to be taken down, obviously.

This Earth isn’t real. It’s designed to facilitate a reality where we are compelled to disentangle ourselves from our maladaptations to the real world. There are not real stakes in the real paradise, so we live in an illusion that we chose prior because we saw value in how it would disentangle ourselves.
If you want to experience the hell that is paradise as you are now, practice lucid dreaming. I recommend the WILD method as I was able to cross over into a dream with lucidity about 30-50% of nights. And it was fun at first, going on adventures, infinite pleasures, and an endless array of debauchery, but then it gets stale and awful. There’s a Twilight episode about this concept, and it is a very apt aspect of the human condition to be aware of to understand the reason as to why things are this way. Blades of grass are beings made in God’s image. A microbe is made in God’s image. You do have a very negative opinion of yourself and the self is the lens we see the world through, so what you see as negativity is your construct of self projected on the world. That’s how that works. Change your own self-perception, everything else changes. I say this from experience, having been raised by an abusive, negligent narcissist and thought myself to be the lowest form of life on Earth. Spiritual work reconditioned me, and now I think I was a big stinky butt for lingering in that state for so long
