I have always done some kind of work out in my life, however, as of the last two years i’ve stopped caring about it and had no interest in it. I did swimming from 4 to 14 years old, and from 14 to 16 i went to the gym pretty constantly, but now as an 18 year old i don’t do anything. I’ve found myself missing swimming, but mostly just giving up on the gym because i stopped finding enjoyment in it. However i am well aware that i should probably do something, it’s just very hard to want to do it in the first place. I don’t really care about being strong or handsome, but i’ve always been overweight since i was a little kid and even tho i’m on a diet, i struggle with losing weight and the advice is always “go to the gym”. How do YOU manage to find motivation to work out?

Desire for my body not to atrophy and wither away earlier than necessary. My hobbies and work are generally very sedentary, so I need to go out of the way to be active.

There are fun aspects - with weight training or running, you can track the numbers and watch them improve over time; it’s RPG-like improvement fantasy. Sports let you focus on the game aspect and not notice the physical part as much. Walking lets you explore your environment.
