    Should that not have been retaken? Neither foot was on the line when the penalty was taken

        Yeah, indeed.

        I get the feeling VAR shat out of overturning a saved penalty 20 minutes (well, 35 as it turned out!) from the end of the World Cup final.

        Apparently this is the wording, which, hands up, I was not aware was the case now:

        When the ball is kicked, the defending goalkeeper must have at least part of one foot touching, in line with, or behind, the goal line.

        So, I guess she could have argued for the “in line with” part. I honestly can’t keep up it seems like the rules change constantly - last I knew I was certain you had to be actually touching the line.

          Haha ok so fifa are also unsure :D Not a big deal now because Spain won anyway, but that could have been very consequential
