I stand by thay accusation. It’s true in every way except literal.
I’m tired of not being allowed to acknowledge that Democrats would immediately start winning elections if they would run popular progressive candidates. (Some have, this year! There’s hope!)
It isn’t a difficult problem for Democrats to solve. Most Democratic party leaders choose not to solve it - I’m guessing because they would have to give up the bribes they accept from billionaires.
I didn’t even call for voting for a third party. I don’t think that helps. But pretending the average Democrat politician respects me or gives a shit about me isn’t helping, either.
Anyway, please don’t tell me to pretend the average Democratic candidate isn’t pissing in my ear. That’s too far, for me.
The other guy is clearly following fascist playbooks.
And yes, I also have a real problem with the official blessed competition to the folks following fascist playbooks, who merely have lunch with the folks following fascist playbooks and accept funding from the same sources as the folks who are running fascist playbooks.
You choose to equate the parties and inspire voter apathy just before a US General Election, the time where voter apathy is the most dangerous. As such, you greatly bolster the Republican Party, knowingly or not.
As has been proven, Russia (and others interested in destabilizing the US) have paid hand over fist to do so. So whether you’re paid by them or doing this on your own time, no amount of your “Why are you booing me? I’m right!” makes sense right now unless:
You are unaware a US General Election is about to take place (if so, then why are you yapping about US elections?)
You are aware, and intend to help the GOP win by driving voter apathy (ergo fuck RIGHT off)
You are aware, and think you will unironically teach the DNC to be more progressive by inspiring people to sit out and let the GOP win (at which point you’re just… foolish, not actively and intentionally a disruptor)
You make the DNC (and the US) more progressive by helping the more progressive DNC candidates win their primaries and general elections, not equating them to GOP politicians.
Yours is the first helpful response I’ve seen. Thank you. If I was more aware of the election cycle, I would take more care.
I’m certainly part of the un-engaged problem. I’m working on that.
What I’m learning is brutal, and doesn’t make me hold any peraonal faith that the Democratic party is even a viable part of the solution. But I’ll keep voting as my union representative urges me to. Until my union bails on the Democrats, I’ll back them.
Your thoughtful response prompted me to edited my post above in an attempt to appeal to folks to vote against fascism, for what that’s worth.
Ah, another Trolley Problem dropout.
Oooh, I like this one.
Thanks, I made it up.
I’m so sick of all the people that say that because the Democrats are (deeply) flawed, they are just as bad as the Republicans.
That’s how you secure Republican victory by pressuring leftist voters to stay home, and that’s exactly why it’s such a popular meme.
I didn’t call them as bad as Republicans.
I accused them of pissing in my ear.

They are not as bad, but let me rant for 5 paragraphs about how bad are they while not saying a word about the other guy.

Nobody here is not peeing in my ear, or worse.
I’m surprised that’s a controversial take.
The biggest issue with your take is the timing.

Glad to hear it.
