Probably the best fantasy I’ve ever read. It’s a hard read to start with because there is zero hand holding in this series. The author just drops you into a world and presses the proverbial play button. You truly feel like you’re in an alien world right from the get go. But as you read (and likely re-read) the world gets more familiar.
Part of the big reason why I liked it is cause it’s not an umpteenth variation of DnD or Tolkien-esque world building. It’s fresh and unique. But that also means it’s a challenge for some users. Take the negative reviews with that grain of salt.
In short, it’s a truly magical journey. Take it, struggle with it, and hopefully you’ll find the same magic I did when I read it.
