I wonder if that happened in Ohio, generally I don’t hear good things from my friends but they don’t hate it–completely. Last time I went to visit friends, the same cones were in the same place–ten years later sigh. It’s an odd place, when I was in college, like 18-19, I went to a shooting range in Lorain and they didn’t as for an ID lol

yeah I say suddenly but it does takes years but screws up people who. you know. just want to live somewhere and not move around all the time. So like long ago lincoln park was crime ridden and little village was a nice neighborhood. Bronzeville prices are practically lincoln park level now but you might not want to walk around at night.

I get that. I wonder if it’s part of the heroin crisis. I’m surprised that my friend group got caught up in that, I had moved away a long while ago. But it’s like my friends sister, I stayed with them, ended up doing that, getting knocked up, and losing custody of her kid. I’m last I remember you were doing cosplay stuff.

lincoln park was dangerous right through the 60’s but its gentrification was the 70’s. Its been a think with chicago for awhile. suburban flight. city surge. its an old story but its mostly about the wealthy buying up things and others just trying to survive and trying to have a nice environment.

Same has happened where I live, a bit more recently though. I can’t even recognize downtown. Part of it is the revolving door of businesses going. In perspective, I was debating to rent a room in this weird building for around $450 to do art. That place now has businesses and I bet they are charging 4k+ now; it was odd going to do an espresso machine install in the room I was going to rent 15 years ago.

oh its happening recently to. the bronzeville is more recent and then like down halstead south of uic to bridgeport was shady and is now kinda pricey. same between the east and west campus of uic. Also west of halstead is now called the west loop and is pricey and I would not be surprised if it pushed past ashland. maybe it already has I have not been in the area for awhile. When they rerouted the pink line and used the north south tracks between the green line and blue line im kinda surprised they did not make a united center stop. If they do it will like push things farther west.
