Someone autistic or photosensitive would do fine as a medieval peasant yet face obstacles in modern society - but physical disabilities still represent stuff you cannot do. Having one leg is bad, actually. Yes, we should accommodate the inevitable individuals suffering that malady, but it is still a malady. As surely as any disease or injury. An inability to walk is not like being taller than doorways expect or shorter than barstools anticipate. You absolutely have a problem. Expecting an advanced civilization to minimize that problem’s impact is entirely reasonable and morally necessary. It is nonetheless a problem, to be minimized.

People didn’t invent hills just to fuck with you. The spectrum of human existence includes people who have it fucking rough. Society did not somehow cause all the cases it can fix.

I provided links so people could educate themselves, I guess some can’t help but broadcast their wilful ignorance…

My guy. We can rail against any civilization that doesn’t accommodate people with normal problems, and still acknowledge we are accommodating… problems.

Providing assistance and support doesn’t require pretending it’s not help. Some folks need a lot of help. That’s fine. But skip the pointless word games. The very name dis-ability is crystal clear about describing the lack of an ability.

Some problems, we’d just fix, if we could. Autism: no. Photosensitive epilepsy: Jesus fucking Christ, yes.
