Vice President JD Vance publicly broke from President Donald Trump’s defense of the Iran war in the wake of the Republican Party’s deep losses in the midterm elections.
All the elected democrats can’t stop financial pressure coming due in the US (disrupted trade, Iran war expenses, oil shock, debt payments, healthcare, LLM bubble deflating, so on and so on).
Yet they’re “in power.”
So Dems are set up to take blame. And we know they won’t be aggressive fixing things.
Meanwhile, Big Tech are scared out of their mind.
So they do what they always do: go with wind, and turn on Trump. Except this time, in full survival mode.
So in 2028, blame will swing back to Congress Democrats and Trump himself as things go bad. Big Tech will lean into full algorithmic manipulation mode to boost Vance on social media. Dems will somehow footgun themselves with their candidate. Vance will squeak by and get elected president, fully in the pocket of tech bros, and… we go full Cyberpunk, I guess.
