Today’s game is Uncharted 4. After playing 007 First Light, it left me with a desire to play this again. They play so similarly I feel like it was a given.

I’m enjoying coming back to this with the experience I’ve gained taking photography classes. I’m not going to pretend I’m some big shot master photographer. But I do think there’s been an increase in quality (though the main screenshot is a little too warm now that I’m looking at it). Honestly I’ve started judging games by their photo modes now because of this (Alan Wake 2 is my favorite).

Anyways, I love the themes of this one. It’s a lot more narrative heavy and dramatic I feel like than the older but I feel like it’s a really good way to close out Nathan’s story. I do miss the Supernatural Elements, but I do like the theme of Nathan not being able to leave the life.

As always I feel a need to point out how much I love this game’s water. It’s pretty and really got nice shape and form to it. And the movement is just perfect. Whoever designed it did a really damn good job because I always feel blown away by it.

Anyways. I made it as far as the auction this go around. I’m not gonna bother to collect all the collectibles but the last achievement I need is the speedrunning one. So maybe I’ll get lucky and nab that. I would have sunk more time into it but it took so long to download. I wish they had separated language packs and lost legacy as DLC or something to save on space because that’d would have been a big help. Maybe after this though I’ll finally go play Lost Legacy. I never got a chance to finish it.

I love that you’re practicing photography skills in n what would otherwise be just content padding for the sub. I’ve mentioned it before, but seeing your posts is one of my favorite things on Lemmy. I don’t get enough time to game at the moment but your joy for it reminds me why I love the hobby.

Have you ever had a chance to play classic Diablo 2? I’ve recently found a project that runs it as an app and its been kind if crazy thinking about how formative this game was for me. Even the concept of my username is a call back to my days playing the Necromancer. Turns out my love of borderlands is because it’s just D2 with guns. If you ever wanna give it a shot, I still have my mint condition 2001 battle box and I’d be glad to share the keys.

Photography has become my favorite form of artistic expression. I can’t draw for shit and don’t have the patience to develop skills, so photography is the perfect mid ground.

ive considered Diablo 2 a few times but im kind of iffy on Roguelikes. It has been on my list of “games I’d like to give a try” though so I definitely plan on it at some point

Oh, it’s not rogue like at all if that helps! Closest thing is that if you die you leave all your gold on your old body, but you can just store it in your stash instead of carrying it on you.

Diablo 2’s not a rogue like- starting over in any form isn’t an intended play option. It’s square in the action RPG category.
