Been updating falling fruit for years but I hardly ever see anyone talkjng about it. It’s one of the most solarpunk things I’ve seen.

On are things like fruit/ nut trees, any edidble plant with links to the usda and wikipedia. It also has tons of places like free bike pumps, water pumps, little libraries, free fridges / pantries, community gardens / orchards, it even let me add free changing stations and a free bicylce co op near me.

I’ve added hundreds of sites around me, ever some on the edge of my own property for people to enjoy.

Same thing happened to me in missouri. It actually taught me to look for things I’d never considered before like paw paws and persimmons instead of just neglacted apple trees. Then once you learn to spot them once, you can keep finding them everywhere.

I’m noticing that now. Lots of trees produce fruit, but unless you know what it is, you tend to disregard it. My old neighborhood had a lot of feijoa being grown as an ornamental, and most people had no idea how good they were to eat. When they were in season I’d periodically just gather some, as they’d be all over the ground.

I grew up on a farm surrounded by goji berries. My mom told me they were poison so I avoided them. 35/40 years later I found out they are amazingly tasty. Now I can recognize the plants even when they are not covered in fruit.

There are 2 jujubes listed near me, I really want to check them out.
