Mainly tax fraud and lying on a firearm application saying he wasn’t on drugs when he was.

The crime is lying on the form. If he’d checked yes on being a drug user, they would have just denied the application.

It was dismissed as frivolous. Plus it’s an amendment violation.

Same reasons we keep letting reds get away with gun crimes tbh.

In reality, no they don’t normally proscute lying on the form, but Republicans demanded a prosecution. Normally his punishment would be probation, but the judge is considering something harsher.

Because he’s the Democratic presidents son. The Republicans need to attack the president who isn’t a Republican in any way they possibly can instead of helping the nation.

He also holds no office, unlike the previous who’s entire gene pool besides Baron and one other. But this guy demands full congressional power

He’s a privileged rich person and tax evasion is confirmed as a crime that needs to be enforced on the rich. Is he getting dragged down bc of politics? Yes, does that mean he should get away with crime, no absolutely not?

I agree. Tax evasion should be a serious “pound me in the ass” prison charge plus asset seizure. White collar crimes are far more pervasive than they should be allowed to be. They also cause death and suffering in the same way other crimes do.

But, I believe in fairness. Let’s do to him whatever happened to Trump the last time he evaded taxes.

Edit: you know what? I’m getting retributive. I think he deserves 10x the punishment trump got.

Well one major point of the western justice system is supposed to be that the law applies to everyone equally. Now that’s certainly not the case for rich people and I’m all for that to change. But this change needs to be done for the whole rich people class. Using political power to only force it upon one person for obvious political reasons is not justice. Especially when you can be sure that the people calling for a harsh punishment for him almost certainly have evaded taxes as well.
