It wouldn’t surprise me if they are in a panic now after the reception of Baldur’s Gate 3, given that Dragon Age Origin was meant to be a spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate in the first place.
Seems likely to me. Especially since they were probably trying to cram as much microtransaction / live service / season pass stuff in there as possible, most likely copying Diablo Immortal.
Edit: After Anthem flopped, Bioware was probably in (and still probably is) in a precarious position, especially since most of the original Bioware crew’s left. They never should’ve sold out to EA.
