In the only award voted for by the public, the scene in Doctor Who that saw Jodie Whittaker regenerate into David Tennant – from the episode The Power of the Doctor – was crowned TV Moment of the Year.
Context - I’ve been out since the Robin hood episode with Capaldi.
Is this serious or a gag or a one off or something? Are they really bringing him back as the doctor long term?
I must admit I didn’t even considered this would need spoilers.
Tennant is back as the 14th Doctor before handing the baton to Gatwa. It was a cunning move from RTD.
I’d also recommend persisting with the Capaldi run - it had a rocky start (I think a lot of writers of the early episodes didn’t know who the new Doctor was so they were writing generically, and pretty poorly in some cases) but it does hit it’s stride and there’s some of the best episodes of nu-Who in the later part of his run. Skip the Chibbers era.
I’ve been rewatching Series 9 and I think it might be my favourite series of New Who. When Peter Capaldi hit his stride he seriously hit it. Series 10 is also great. He’s just phenomenal in the part
Thanks!
haha, no worries, I’m a garbage fan. I deserve any spoilers :)
We’ll have I got spoilers for you! OK, I don’t.
Tennant is back for three specials, then he’s gonna presumably regenerate into Gatwa at the end of it, as Gatwa is confirmed the Doctor for the next full series
Thanks!
