      It can’t be lower quality as it started as a gif. It’s possible compress it further to make it smaller and thus load faster, but that can only reduce the quality. Also being more compressed means it requires more processing power to play.

      The original gif format is going to be the most efficient for your computer as it is just a series of images rather than a compressed video format. It was designed to be as simple as possible for computers and the internet to handle 30 years ago.
