Little late this week but we are back with another cool Warframe

This is Frost, colder and deadlier than space itself. Frost can protect or punish, the decision is yours.

1st ability-Freeze A blast of cold energy that can freeze the target

2nd ability-Ice Wave Send out a wave of frozen ice dealing heavy damage and inflicting cold upon enemies

3rd ability-Snow Globe Create an icy barrier to stop incoming projectiles, great for defending objectives

4th ability-Avalanche Summon a landslide of ice to freeze and shatter all enemies in its radius

Passive Enemies hitting Frost with a melee attack have a 10% chance to get frozen for 20 seconds

Progenitor-Cold

Subsumed Ability-Ice Wave

Tactical Ability-Snow Globe

Frost can be found by defeating Captain Vor and Lech Kril on Exta, Ceres with the main blueprint on the Market

Frost was introduced 1/29/2013 in update 6.0. His design was based on an unused boss from DE’s previous game, Dark Sector

Frost Prime was introduced in update 7.10 in 5/3/2013. Frost prime is tied with Hydroid Prime for the fourth highest possible shields at 3,195

Frost is the second Warframe that received a prime version, and the first one that is craftable.

I really like Frost (Honestly I’m a big fan of all the elemental based frames)

He excels at defending objectives with his abilities, and with the introduction of his new mod for Ice Wave, Icy Avalanche, he can protect his allies with plenty of overguard

Frost is one of the best early game defense frames, but unfortunately falls off pretty hard mid to late game. By mid game you’re usually better off bringing one of the heavy nuke frames as the saying about the best defense being a strong offense very much applies. Nobody can damage the objective if their dead 2 seconds after spawning in.

As for late game although Frost got the same 5 second damage absorb as Rhino and that helps quite a bit with scaling it just means his bubble will on average last about 10 seconds between recasts rather than just immediately vanishing. In terms of raw defense you’re probably better off with Limbo or Gara the former because his protection doesn’t rely on absorbing a specific amount of damage and the later because she has mechanisms that allow both her defense and offense to continue scaling. A strong CC frame along with a good nuke frame is almost always better at defending an objective late game compared to a defense focused one.

Even worse for poor Frost, he suffers from a severe mobility problem. His globes often represent a significant time and energy investment and being non-mobile strongly encourage him to pick one location and camp it. This can strongly discourage his use in any game mode that doesn’t have a stationary objective.

0verall I’d say he’s a great starting frame and is very easy to get up and running with minimal mods, but suffers from having a very specific niche and a severe lack of scaling.

Like Keegan said above time has not been kind to the poor guy, he falls off pretty hard in end game content. Of course he can do fine like any frame, but I hard agree with the lack of scaling.

I really wish they improved his mobility at least, sprint speed of 0.95 feels so slow

If I could make one change, I think his abilities need more scaling. Enough so ice wave and Avalanche can regularly kill things without 300% strength and globe can tank as well as Gara’s wall

Globe scales off incoming damage with a multiplier, and successive stacked globes inherit their predecessors’ hit points, to a cap. Globe actually scales harder than Mass Vitrify for that reason.
