I finally decided to watch Battlestar Galactica this week! Well, my partner made me watch it. I’m up to episode 4 or 5 and have been really enjoying it so far. I love the way it shows people from all through the chain of command, every episode has a tense emotional or political situation. The contemplations on leadership reminded me of one of Matt Colville’s political videos. This one. I am hating Gaius Baltar, though, but that seems to be the point of him lol.

The tough part will be resisting going online to look at discussions on past episodes because I’m terrified of running into spoilers. She said this show has some big twists that have the risk of being spoiled, especially since it’s such an old show.

I think in return I’m going to have to make her watch The Expanse sometime when we’re done with this series. They’re very different and about different things, but they’re also both good sci-fi shows with some political themes.
