Can anyone name some feel good movies, the kind where the world is a nice place filled with good people and nice things happen?

      Both Paddington movies.

Edit to add Nanny McPhee (both again) because that’s what I’m about to do with my evening.

Yeah, but it’s not doom and gloom, it’s more like Paddington gets incarcerated and makes some lovely new friends while he’s there.

Noted. I know what to do when I want to make lovely new friends.

Seconding Nanny McPhee. Although maybe not the second one, considering Uncle Phil and all of that.

That initial scene in the first film where she meets the children is probably my favourite. There’s something incredibly satisfying about the sound design.

You know, it’s actually bit hard to think of! Kids animated movies like the Despicable Me series are pretty fun. Old school comedies like Airplane or Blues Brothers. (Bad stuff happens but in a fun way)

George of the Jungle (Just simple, clean fun with the only bad people being idiots)
The Martain (Seems like it’d be doom and gloom, but it’s about fighing through all adversity - and lots of fun!)
The Gods Must be Crazy (Not sure how this one has aged, I haven’t seen it since the 90’s, but I loved it then)

Just about all of Charlie Chaplin’s filmography is on SBS on Demand. Along with 5th Element, which I nearly recommended, but there is a little gloom in that one.
