Since CD Projekt Red announced that alongside The Phantom Liberty DLC that the base game will also get a substantial update dubbed Update 2.0 there’s been some confusion around what will be in the free update and what will be locked behind the £24.99 DLC.

Well the developers have now stated exactly what upgrades Update 2.0 is bringing to the base game.

Redesigned skill trees and perks
Revamped cyberware and new capacity system
Vehicle combat and car chases
Combat AI improvements
New police system
UI and UX improvements
Loot, items and crafting changes
New radio stations

Coming as part of The Phantom Liberty DLC

New District - Dogtown
New storyline and characters
New quests, gigs and boss fights
Vehicle missions and air drops
New relic skill tree and abilities
100+ new items
Vehicle missile launchers
Level cap increased to 60

It must be noted that players on PlayStation 4 will NOT receive Update 2.0 or The Phantom Liberty DLC

No release date for Update 2.0 has been announced but we do know it will be on or before the release date for The Phantom Liberty DLC which is September 26th.

I’ve yet to buy the game and I am looking for something to get me through winter. Is stable/playable enough now?

Always was on PC. Played since launch with over 700 hours in the game in three play throughs.

Agreeed. My tip to anyone in pc is that resolution is often the only setting that will get you to 60fps. It’s much more resolution bound than any other game I’ve played and I had to play on a lower resolution than I usually do. On the plus side, you can keep most settings maxed because they don’t affect performance much.

Good advice. This is the primary reason they have opted for Unreal Engine for future versions.

I can only speak to the experience on PC, but it’s pretty good now. You might have some occasional bugs but nothing worse than you’d expect from a Bethesda game

Same. IDK why my midrange system and budget GPU (at the time, anyway) was able to run it when so many others claimed to have problems. I can get 60fps on ‘custom’ medium settings.

The one thing I still think is missing for me is the music. The background music doesn’t grab me and the radio stations are lackluster imo

I had almost 0 issues with it and really enjoyed it, I’m looking forwards to jumping back in after the update.

Depends on what you’re going to play it. I play on PC and have no problems with it. GF plays on series S and had more than a couple of crashes.
