Armenia said on Wednesday it would host a joint military exercise with the United States next week, a development that Russia said was cause for concern.

The Armenian Defence Ministry said the purpose of the Sept. 11-20 “Eagle Partner 2023” exercise was to prepare its forces to take part in international peacekeeping missions.

A U.S. military spokesperson said 85 US soldiers and 175 Armenians would take part. He said the Americans - including members of the Kansas National Guard which has a 20-year-old training partnership with Armenia - would be armed with rifles and would not be using heavy weaponry.

The only.concern Russia should have is where all those missing Russians are that keep disappearing into Ukraine. Putin says they weren’t killed. So, maybe they are just wandering around lost? Maybe finding the thousands of missing citizens should be Russia’s first “concern” instead of worrying about what other countries are doing.

No one is planning to invade Russia, so Putin’s idiotic concerns should fall only on deaf ears.

Yes, he knows. But he won’t admit it. So we can all play along and re-direct all of his concerns back to the most pressing matter for Russians which is “where in the world are they all mysteriously disappearing to?”

Crimea is theirs to reclaim. Places in Russia, used to stage or support the war of aggression against Ukraine are fair targets - even for occupation until a peace treaty.

I don’t see Ukraine picking up new territory from this, which seems like a key distinction. Reclaim, yes. New, no.

Yeah, that’s most likely. Though if the Russian federation were to collapse during a period where some of their territory is occupied by Ukraine, I could see some of it going to them. Though IMO it should be by (legitimate) referendum where they decide their own fate.
