I guess we’ll have a month or two to collect water. Would you need to have a collection system from your roof?

      Sorry for the late reply.

Yeah, was thinking of something simple - one of those DIY type kits that you attach to your downpipe, and have a few tanks on the side of your house.

No issues at all. I saw those tanks. We don’t have roof collection, but have irrigation supply. That said it sometimes is turned off for a few days, so we looked for an alternative supply, filling up containers may work for us.

The main constraint is that we don’t have a ton of space to put many tanks. I know that they make slimline tanks, but still seems like pretty low volume stuff, which I wonder how long would last with regular watering of our garden over the summer.

Better do some calculations to see what might be possible :)

We saw that when looking at fitting tanks. I guess it depends on projected water useage, and therefore the storage needed.

I guess a simple test will be watering your beds with a watering can, counting the useage, then that’ll give you what you’d need to store. Of course watering is very much based on the number of days needed, which is then driven by the weather.

            Tough call eh?

Yeah, exactly - will need to do some quick maths :)

I guess even if we only manage a smaller than needed solution, its still something.
