New Jersey remains without a first round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
As it stands, New Jersey has six picks, one in each round except for the first. During his end-of-season media availability, Devils’ general manager Tom Fitzgerald said, “We don’t have a first-round pick. That doesn’t mean we won’t get one.”

I’d like to think that remark from Fitz was to put pressure on Bratt’s agent, but I don’t really know anything.
I expect to see some of the later round picks in a few years, our whole scouting department seems killer.
I think it was a genuine reflection of their openness to make a deal that included a first round pick.
