Yeah I thought it was a lot of fun! I agree with the CGI being rough at points, but the movie as a whole was a blast. Also getting to see a Keaton fight scene, as Batman, with modern camera work and choreography… so cool.
As much as I enjoyed it, I want the new DCU to have a clean break from the DCEU, so I’m fine with these movies struggling at the box office if that helps that goal.
The DCEU was just so badly mismanaged, there’s almost no choice but to make a clean break and start fresh from a business standpoint.
With that said, I wish they’d shove the cash out for just one more Keaton Batman film. Batman Returns was the first film I ever attended at a midnight showing, and I’d love to have that experience just one more time. (And they’ve already got a stuntman who can pull off the rough bits for him so he doesn’t bust a hip.)
