    On purely economic lens, dumping toxic waste into rivers is more efficient than looking for alternatives.

      Ok, this is just wrong in so many ways. An “economic lens” would call this a tragedy of the commons if it’s legal in that society and attempt to calculate the damage through various means. Which would make the dumping far more expensive than proper disposal.

      If you want to say from a micro economic perspective, considering only maximizing profit for the individual firm, ya. Economics isn’t a blanket term for corporate capitalism.
