This one did not really have any technology as the horror. It was somewhat predictable. I really wish Pia had been able to keep her cool and survive.

Some of my favourite episodes don’t really have a sci-fi angle. I do agree it was somewhat predictable but I still think it was a really solid story and episode overall, and I’m enjoying the running meta theme so far of them s**ting on Netflix lol

i think the angle was that the temptation to create salacious, streamable content for the masses got turned back around on the protagonists when their investigation revealed that they, themselves were, in fact, personally involved and at the heart of the events they were investigating-- and it cost one their life and destroyed the life of the other one. The final twist of the knife was that a documentary ended up being made about them.

so, and echo from the previous episode’s commentary on the exploitative nature of production to meet the insatiable demand for new streaming content. although it felt like more of a Twilight Zone twist-of-fate episode than a Black Mirror episode.

the lack of sci-fi element really bugged me, and i think I found it after some thinking (not sci-fi related horror but still gave me the creeps when I realized it) check https://lemmy.world/post/329488
