I’ve been lurking and waiting for a dice making community to pop up :)
Dice making was our “pandemic thing”. We just started down that rabbit hole one day and it grew and grew. We ended up making and selling a lot of dice, including this set.
It’s a petri pour set - where you drip various inks into resin and gravity pulls down creeping strands into the dice body while it cures.
Life has got in the way of making more sets this last six months, but I’m looking for inspiration to get back into it.
It didn’t take too long - the trick was to work out that you need to use a particular type of ink that is heavier than normal alcohol ink and will cause it to sink. Yeah, we use a pressure pot.
Our process for this type of set is:
Sometimes you end up with heavy drips of ink that settle on the bottom and make large patches. For this reason, we learned quickly that these dice work better as double-cast dice (cast first as blanks, then in full moulds). This puts the splotches “under” the numbers and looks more purposeful.

Super cool. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing more, hopefully you’ll find some inspiration to make some more.
