They were excited about joining NATO when Putin applied, they thought they were going to be in the club. Point is, they did everything we asked, but in the end they were more useful to us as an enemy, so it never mattered what Russia did, we were never going to let them into the club. I’m on your side, you just missed the memo. We can stop pretending that there was any chance of Russia getting let into the club, the current mark is Ukraine. If they privatize everything and sacrifice enough of their people to fight the barbaric Russkies for us we might let them into NATO and EU. 😉
