Romania is ready to use, depending on the “threat level”, anti-aircraft systems against Russian drones and will use “all military power” to defend the national territory, said three-star general Gheorghiță Vlad, deputy chief of the Defense Staff.

Also, the Romanian army sent 600 soldiers and radars to the area of the Danube Delta on the border with Ukraine.

“We decided to deploy around 600 soldiers to strengthen our defense line in the northern part of Dobrogea. We deployed some radars, we have the defense activated and we had discussions with our allied partners (NATO) to find solutions to resist the Russian aggression”, stated General Vlad in an interview given to a Swedish television station.

Asked if Romania will use its anti-aircraft systems against Russian drones, the general deputy head of the Romanian army stated:

“Depending on the level of the threat, we are ready to use all military power to defend the Romanian territory”

The Ministry of Defense decided on Thursday, September 14, to restrict flights from the airspace of northern Dobrogea, on the border with Ukraine. The announcement came in the context in which the same ministry decided to build two anti-aircraft shelters in the Plauru-Ceatalchioi area, where at least three drones of the Russian army have fallen in recent days, following intensive attacks on the infrastructure of the Ukrainian ports on the Danube.
