      Communism is very similar to socialism, as both involve the controll of production of goods by the people, not the government. The difference being communism expands to also services, while socialism only covers the necessities. Though another key diffrence is in why these ideas are adopted. Socialism is slowly achieved as people want to keep the government from controlling them, while communism is achieved in an all out overthrowing of the old government or in an act of similar extremes.

        Basically, either way you look at it, people are getting sick of big buisness and want to ensure the safety of their needs from greedy government.
