If we asked the same question about Christians the answer would be obvious: there’s a whole range of views, some tolerant and some intolerant. We should recognize the same about Muslims. For example:

Subtle, but it’s there. To be clear, that phrasing leaves open the possibility that they don’t actually accept their claims or identities as legitimate, but the modern use of “identify as” and similar constructs implies at least conditional acceptance of that claim.
It is considered “a great sin” to be gay as a Muslim. Many Muslims believe the death penality should be used on any Muslim that comes out as being gay.
Are Muslims allowed to be gay? Much less the rest of the acronym?

That’s why I asked it. The authors of the letter don’t mention anything about gay Muslims in their letter. I’m genuinely curious.
