None one ever said that LLMs are AGIs. Ever.
As a side note, AGI or not, LLMs are fucking PATHETIC if they can’t do A is B therefore B is A levels of inference. That’s just so fucking terrible it’s almost comical if it weren’t for the fact the motherfuckers who made these things are burning the planet down to not do elementary inferences of logic we’ve known about for literally thousands of years.

Nobody who has any knowledge of how they work says that, agreed (except for the techbrodude grifters who maybe don’t quite come out and say it but sure as fuck a) flirt with saying it, and b) don’t correct when people act as if they are).
99.44%+ of the world’s population has no idea how they work, however, and there’s a truly terrifying number of people (including people who really should know better!) who think that they are genuinely intelligent (instead of hallucinating digital parrots on acid).
