There is one single piece of advice I give everyone. Keep your stamina (fatigue/green) bar up, at LEAST 50%. If the worms are hard to hit with a weapon, that’s probably why.
Other than that, sometimes you’re just not ready. That’s supposed to be the takeaway from the cave. Go forage some plants (fungi on trees, tall plants in bogs, flowers) and trade them for armor and weapons you have skills in.
Yeah, that’s what I used before. I’d really like to play it. I own it on steam as it was dirt cheap. Maybe I’ll wait for the morrowind Skyrim mod, if that’s ever released.
I played a decent amount of oblivion but I needed to use some mods that don’t tie stamina to accuracy or damage output, I forget exactly what the problem was.
This is a reminder to try Morrowind again.
OpenMW. Fatigue is king - determines success of everything. Always have fatigue regen potions. Make sure its full or near full before combat, casting a spell, bartering, etc.
Don’t be afraid to run away from enemy, rest and then fight them again. or just practice on mudcraps until your weapon skill is decent
If fatigue is still hindering you from playing the game then add a mod or two that overhauls combat like fatigue regen and always hit
The hit detection is absolutely dog shit, and the way the story is told through text. So much text, and the old style of inventory management just sucks balls. Especially if you came from better systems like oblivion or Skyrim first
I’ve tried to get into this game a few times. But I really struggled with it.
Like right outside the starting town there is a cave that has someone that easily kills me and the worms On the ground are even hard to kill.
It feels like I don’t know how to play this game.

Morrowind can be a removed. It’s probably best to watch some guides about starter builds and basics.
Also use openMw because it’s just a better experience than the original game engine.

Morrowinds stamina system is definitely bad because everything is tied to it. It’s probably just better for you to wait for Skywind.
I remebering jump spamming up the ramps in Vivec City to build up the skill and stamina to make everything else S-Tier.
