Carlos Sainz has reportedly signed a pre-contract with Audi which is set to join the F1 grid in 2026.
The Spanish driver is currently in a contract with Ferrari until the end of 2024. However, it has also been reported that he has signed a 2+3 year contract extension with the Maranello-based squad, which would mean he would have another two years with the option of a third if it is true.
I thought Sainz just signed past the end of next year.

But isn’t Audi just taking over for Alfa Romeo? At least that’s my understanding.
