It’s been over a week since the last one so I figured I would do the deed and post it this time. We’ve covered all the starters, so I wanted to bring the unofficial 4th one, the frame most new players craft as their first, Rhino!
Release date: 2012.10.25
Abilities:
Rhino Charge - Rhino charges towards a target, clobbering any in his path and goring his victim.
Iron Skin - Rhino hardens his skin, insulating himself from all damage.
Roar - Grants all nearby Warframes increased damage for a short duration.
Rhino Stomp - Rhino stomps with force sufficient to disrupt time, tumbling enemies around him in stasis.
Acquisition: Main blueprint purchasable from the Market. Components drop from Jackal on Fossa,Venus.
Rhino! The frame that has aged like fine wine, the true rock that stands the test of time unwavered (sorry Atlas). A perfect first non starter frame for new players to obtain, giving them both the durability to withstand any challenge and the damage boost to take it down. And he never falls off like some other frames, his Iron Skin isn’t the best survivability skill, but its far from the worst, and Roar (even if it is subsumable) remains the best party friendly damage buff in the game. Stomp is a decent crowd control, especially early game. Charge is his only bad ability, but even that one can be salvaged with it’s augment, or just subsumed over. Fantastic warframe overall, praise be his mighty codpiece!
Rhino is great when you just feel like telling everyone “Bite my shiny metal ass”, bonus points if you’re fighting infested.
He’s not necessarily the best tanky frame, but he’s absolutely a solid choice that you can’t go wrong with. Indeed, praise be to his mighty codpiece!
Apparently Stomp is also one of the best crowd control abilities for lategame because it works on eximus like Thrax (and even Corrupted Jackal).
TIL! I knew it worked on bosses (I remember relying on it early in the game to help me with Lephantis) but the fact that it works on Eximi (or is it Eximuses?) seems like a bug, I wouldn’t count on it staying that way.
