Last year I decided to knit myself a fun pair of socks from some Halloween themed yarn, but only ended up with one complete at the end of October. So this weekend I finally cast on the second one, and managed a couple of inches on Sunday while keeping up with NFL live chatter across Lemmy and Mastodon!

Any other NFL fans out there? Obligatory “Go Pack Go!”

Pattern is Aquaphobia Socks by Crystal Flanagan, and tbh I didn’t like the first sock much at the time but now it’s sat for a whole year, I actually love it and don’t know what Past Me was thinking 🤷‍♀️

Can’t find a photo of it, alas, but I’ll take one for next week so you can see wtf I’m talking about.

Today is an extremely long stressful day full of Life Stuff ™ and I’m trying not to freak out, so will be knitting on this all day to keep me calm and I’ll update with how far I got 😄

WIP knitters, show me what you got!

Hopefully you got well through the day! That’s a beautiful colourway. I bet it’s a lot of fun to knit with!

Around here, everything is still covered in fluff. After obsessing a little about it not being long enough, I decided that it’s OK and now I’m finishing the body with an i-cord edge. But now that I look at the pics from yesterday, I start worrying again that it could use some more length. Oh well…

Everyone has their preference but it seems like just about the perfect length to me! Just yank on it a bit extra when you lay it out to block? 😅 Can’t get over the patience that must have taken, hope the edging went ok.

        Edging’s going well, thanks!
Looking back, it has taken an awful lot of time indeed. But it has served its purpose well: With this sweater, I restarted knitting (with minimal, dormant prior experience) in a time, when I needed distraction from Life™. And later, it gave me some creative time when I had, neither energy, nor time for sewing or any other elaborate activity. So, a therapeutic knit. But yes, I’m starting to have enough of it and want to finally wear it. :)
